Which Is The Right Bed For Your Dog

You may have a dog that likes to curl up to sleep or stretch out most anywhere to catch a snooze. Usually dogs like to retreat to their own space to catch a nap and revive themselves.  Dogs actually love a comfortable, warm and quiet place that belongs to them.

Here are some things to consider when selecting your dog's bed and private space:

• Different Types of Dog Beds - There are a huge assortment of dog beds available in this day and time.  You can use the homemade version by taking a wooden box and adding a pillow or blanket.  This is an easy and inexpensive alternative.  However, your dog will probably love you more if you would chose a nicer bed for him or her. • Filled With Cedar -  Some large mattress type beds are filled with cedar.  If your pet bed is being used outside then a cedar filled bed might be a good option.  Cedar is known to help repel fleas.
• Where To Put Your Dog Bed - Some dog beds are more suitable for indoors on carpet or hardwood floors, while others are more suited for outdoor porches or dog houses.  You may actually want two different dog beds; one for winter and a different one for summer.  Also, consider you own local climate and weather.
• Quality Of Your Dog Bed - You want to look for a bed that is made of durable material.  Dogs have sharp claws and also tend to chew on their beds.  No bed is totally indestructible but you would like for it to hold up to some rough treatment.  Zippers need to open and close easily.
• Colors and Patterns - Your dog probably doesn't really care what color his or her bed is but you might.  You might want it to match the colors of the room where you plan to place the bed. 
• Special Features - Some beds are heated and some are made with memory foam for added comfort.
